Patrick Flight

ecological genetics

I am a fifth year graduate student and doctoral candidate in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Brown University working with Dr. David Rand. My thesis work focuses on the ecological genetics of Northwest Atlantic nearshore organisms. Specifically, I am interested in how historical demography and natural selection shape patterns of genome evolution. I currently work in two different systems, the acorn barnacle, Semibalanus balanoides, and the estuarine teleost, Fundulus heteroclitus. Funding for my graduate work has come from two years of Rhode Island EPSCoR support.

Please feel free to look at some of my projects on the research page. If you have any questions about my work you can contact me at patrick_flight 'at' brown.edu.
